WITHIN THE PROJECT "101 REASONS TO VOTE FOR WOMEN" THE BEST REASON IS ANNOUNCED

Between april and october 2010, in 36 cities and 105 rural areas we are looking for answers to the question, why vote for women? 13 organizations from 11 cities look for answers that will change the level of awareness on the position of women in BiH!

On June 21, 2010 in Media Centre Sarajevo, the project "101 reasons to vote for women" was promoted, and the best reason, chosen by the listeners of Radio Stari Grad who voted in the period between May 27 to June 27 2010, was announced.
The voters judged the following statement of Marijan Mijajlović, a sport journalist to be the best one:

''If Indira Ghandi, Jadranka Kosor or, Benazir Bhutto can do it, I do not see the reason why women in BiH could not assume leadership positions in their country. They need equality and we deffinitely need to support them and bravely try to catch up to and follow the example of, the leading countries of the world where women have an important position in decision-making political processes.''

At the promotion spoke Mr. Thomas Ruegg, the director of the Swiss agency for development and cooperation, Mrs. Zilka Spahić-Šiljak - the coordinator of this project (The TPO Foundation), Mrs. Sabiha Husić (Medica Zenica), Mrs. Bojana Tomašević (Infohouse) i Mrs. Jadranka Milićević (The Cure Foundation).
When journalist Aleksandar Hršum asked who was the Alpha male on the BiH political scene,  Svetlana Cenić replied that she does not see one, and that there are hundred million reasons to vote for women.
The importance of the project of educating the population, which is currently taking place in 36 cities and 105 rural areas with the goal of encouraging women to run for the elections and support other women was emphasized.
