THE FIRST PRESS CONFERENCE TO ANNOUNCE THE ACTIVITIES OF
THE WOMEN'S GROUP CAMPAIGN IN BH

The first press conference to announce the activities of the Women's Group Campaign in BH and present the action plan for the next 18 months of the Project will take place in Sarajevo on July 19th 2012 at 11:30. The conference will be held in the CIPS University of Sarajevo premises located in the address: Zmaja od Bosne 8, the University Campus.

The Campaign includes activities on four projects: "Equal opportunities for women and men," supported by the SDC Switzerland, "Woman and the law today," supported by the Foundation Kvinna till Kvinna Sweden, the project "Improving women's participation in the government and gender responsible politics in Bosnia and Herzegovina - 2012", supported by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation for Southeastern Europe, Germany, and the fourth project "Empowerment of BiH women for political and social change" supported by the open Society Fund BiH.

The realization of Campaign will be done by the following partner organizations of the Women's Group BiH: TPO Fondacija, Udružene žene Banja Luka, Helsinški parlament građana Banja Luka, Medica Zenica, Horizonti Tuzla, Centar za pravnu pomoć ženama Zenica, Lara Bijeljina, Fondacije Cure Sarajevo, Budućnost Modriča, Most Višegrad, Ženski Centar Trebinje, Prava za sve Sarajevo, Forum žena Bratunac, Duvanjke Tomislavgrad, Vive Žene Tuzla, Kult Sarajevo, Udruženje građana Bosansko Grahovo, Glas žene Bihać, Krajiška suza, Forma F Mostar, Žene ženama Sarajevo, Center za ljudska prava Univerziteta, Perpetuum Mobile.
The project "Equal opportunities for women and men", organized by TPO Foundation and partner organizations will consist of the following activities: 10 workshops in 10 cities for 200 young politicians on gender-sensitive politics, trainings over 1,000 women in 50 rural areas, 10 two-day trainings for young women from rural areas in order to empower them to prepare their own businesses, organization of debates of the elected politicians so they can come to these 50 rural areas and get to talk to

women and try to better understand their needs.
The "Woman and the law today" is a partnership project between the "United Women" (UW) Banja Luka and Helsinki Citizens Assembly, and it will consist of the following activities: the workshop of the women's NGOs "Women's Electoral Campaign - Local Elections 2012th" in the joint planning of the campaign, ten workshops for women voters in urban and rural areas of western Bosnia, development of promotional materials (banners for all organizations, leaflets, T-shirts for street actions), two outdoor events - one at the beginning of the campaign, and the other on the day before the election silence, as well as two public tribunes. 
The project "Improving women's participation in the government and gender responsible politics in Bosnia and Herzegovina - 2012" organized by the UW Banja Luka will have the following activities: the thematic workshop for women politicians - a process led by Medica Zenica and the UW: "Planning of the campaign to increase visibility of women candidates in the local elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2012", development of promotional materials (banners in all organizations, leaflets, T-shirts for street actions), two outdoor events - one at the beginning of the campaign, and the other on a day before the election silence.
The project "Empowerment of BiH women for political and social change" will be implemented by the UW Banja Luka with other three partner organizations: Medica Zenica, Rights for All Sarajevo, and the Future of Modrica. Project's activities will consist of:four preparatory workshops with women candidates for local elections - the region of Sarajevo, Zenica, Doboj and Banja Luka, one advanced workshop with women candidatespreparation of promotional materials (banners in all organizations, leaflets, T-shirts for street actions), two outdoor events - one at the beginning of the campaign, and the other on the day before the election silence, and two TV shows.
