THE BEST PEACE INITIATIVE IN GALMOČ AWARDED AND IMPLEMENTED
Within the Project Empowering women returnees in BiH, implemented by the TPO Foundation and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway, Association of Women LI-Woman from Livno, as a local partner of TPO Foundation, after the seminar on UN resolution 1325: Women, peace and security, selected and awarded the best peace initiative at the local level.
The best peace initiative of the applicant Elvedina Vojić-Erceg, titled „Pokrenite se Glamočanke“ has been granted and implemented in Glamoč on June 29 and 30, 2013. Within the initiative two seminars and one street action were held for women returnees, mostly from rural areas, in collaboration
with the Association of Women "Glamočanke".
The first seminar was held on June 29, 2013 and second was held on June 30, 2013 in Glamoč. 31 women in total attended the both events. The aim of the seminar was to inform the participants of UN resolution 1325: Women, peace and security, Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Prevention of Discrimination and GAP BiH, with an emphasis on the importance and role of the Local GAP.
Street action was held on June 29, 2013 on the main street in Glamoč. 300 brochures were distributed, with purpose to familiarize citizens with the basic documents relating to gender equality and women's human rights.
