PUBLIC DEBATES BETWEEN POLITICIANS AND YOUTH - KULT SARAJEVO

Within the project Equal Opportunities for Men and Women in Politics, The Institute for Youth Development KULT organized five public debates between youth and female politicians from local community. Debates were attended by the large number of young people, and some of the problems that young people face were discussed at the meetings. One of the conclusions is that careful planning of solutions is a prerequisite for a success.
The first meeting was held on September 30, 2013, and the youth had an opportunity to meet Ms. Smiljana Viteškić, president of the Municipal Council Ilidža. 18 young people attended the meeting, and Ms. Viteškić talked about women in politics, emphasized the importance of including youth in the decision-making process and tried to offer feasible

solutions for the most common problems participants face in their local communities.
Another meeting was held on October 7, 2013, and on this occasion, youth met with the Ilidža Municipal Council Secretary, Ms. Azreta Grebović. Ms. Grebović talked about the functioning of the Municipal Council, her tasks and obligations, emphasizing the advantages of including youth in the political life of local communities.
In addition, meetings were held with Ajla Milišić, the youngest member of the Municipal Council Ilidža on October 22, 2013 and with Ms. Ifeta Džuho Muratagić, candidate for the Municipal Council at the last local elections and Ajla Huseinović, a young political activist.
