ROUNDTABLE: POTENTIAL RELIGIOUS TEACHING EDUCATION FOR ACTIVISM AND NON-VIOLENCE, SARAJEVO

As a part of the activities on the campaign of 16 Days of Activism, after the round table in Behram- beg madrasa in Tuzla, TPO Foundation is organized a round table in Sarajevo, 03.12.2014. called Potential for religious teaching education for activism and non-violence. The speakers were Amra Pandžo, director of Association for dialogue in family and society "Mali koraci" from Sarajevo and Arijana Ćatović, psychotherapist who has extensive experience in working with victims of violence as well as therapies for children. The Moderator of the round table was the project coordinator, Melika Šahinović. Present were secondary school teachers from different cities. Amra Pandžo presented religion as a bound between the material and

spiritual world whose purpose well-doing, respect and unification. Arijana Ćatović presented forms of violence and the consequences of violence manifested in children. In his presentation, and from years of experience, Arijana specifically referred to the recognition of signs of violence in children through their behavior in the classroom. Within interactive discussion, teachers talked about their experiences of the in recognition of violence, but also spoke about the procedures of schools, social and other institutions to solve the problem of family violence. Teachers expressed thanks for the advice psychotherapist who drew attention to teachers on how they should relate to children who have suffered from violence.
