THE POTENTIAL OF RELIGIOUS TEACHING EDUCATION FOR ACTIVISM AND NON-VIOLENCE IN BEHRAM- BEG MADRASA IN TUZLA

Within 16 days of activism, global campaign against gender violence, TPO Foundation in cooperation with Behram- beg madrasa in Tuzla organized a round table entitled: The potential of religious teaching education for activism and non-violence. The lecturers at the round table were Amra Pandžo, director of Association for dialogue in family and society "Mali koraci" from Sarajevo, Dr. Amra Delić, a specialist psychiatrist and psychotherapist from Tuzla, an activist in the field of human rights, dialogue and reconciliation, and Azra Fazlović professor of fiqh in Behram-bey madrasa in Tuzla, who is from 2006 to 2014 a member of the Council for Fatwa Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Moderator of the round table was the project coordinator, Melika Šahinović. The round table was attended by the representatives and members of the Association of Mothers of Srebrenica, women's educational center "Misao",

citizens- Muslim woman "Sumejja", organization of women within the Islamic association in Tuzla and teachers of the madrasa.
Amra Pandžo presented spirituality as an essential bond that every religion of the world heritages and which therefore excludes all types of force and violence. Dr. Amra Delić reflected on the different forms of violence, physical and psychological consequences, as well as ways to prevent the emergence of new violence in partner, marriage and family relations. Azra Fazlović presented faith as a pillar of non-violence and force and as a guideline for the treatment of new generations of hatred and arrogance. The participants concluded that the religious education has a responsibility and should have a unique goal and that is a commitment to activism and non-violence and the unification of students through spirituality and respect for others and different.
