CREATIVE WORKSHOP "ACTIVISM AND YOUTH" HELD IN PRIMARY SCHOOL "SREDNJE" IN SREDNJE
As part of the project "Initiative for Creative Dialogue and Education - ICDE", on September 29 2017, TPO Foundation organized a creative educational workshop for young people called "Activism and Youth" at the elementary school "Srednje" in Srednje. Workshop participants were ninth grade students who had an opportunity to learn and question about civic activism, human rights as well as peer and gender-based violence through discussion with the workshop leader. The aim of the workshop is to encourage young people to think about responsibilities and obligations towards themselves and the society they live in, and to learn about the importance of civic activism too. Thirty students of the final grade of this school had the opportunity to watch the stage performances of young actors on various forms of violence and to talk about the prevention and reduction of all forms of violence within and outside the school.
Through participatory exercises, young people have been thinking about features that best describe them and their friends in the classroom, and the goal of the exercise was to learn about personal characteristics and to talk about skills and competencies as the primary task for personal and professional development of each person. Young people also had an opportunity to meet their friends through a different prism but also to consider personal advantages and disadvantages on the road to building their personality and identity.
