The first one-day training for teachers on strengthening competences in achieving successful teacher-parent communication and individual cooperation was held on October 11, 2017 in Sarajevo as part of the framework of a three-year educational program CHILDREN ARE YOUR MIRROR IMAGE: Prevention of peer and gender-based violence in BH schools which is being successfully implemented by TPO Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of the Herzegovina-Neretva and Central Bosnia Canton, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton as well as thirty partner elementary schools. The training was provided in the Edhem Mulabdić Elementary and led by Esmir Salihović, the school pedagogue and author, and Berminka Hrelja, a trauma psychology expert and systemic family psychotherapist.

TPO Foundation has started a three-year initiative and educational program  CHILDREN ARE YOUR MIRROR IMAGE whose objective is to build partnership and cooperation with different formal and informal entities for raising consciousness on the importance and advantages of learning about ethical values, peacetime education and pedagogical and preventive programs in the field of peer violence. Dozens of workshops have been organized as part of this project in the field of media pedagogy, psychosocial support for teachers against stress and professional burnout, as well as gender-sensitive programs intended for the educational and youth sector.
One of the focal points of this project is to offer support to teachers and strengthen teacher's competences in establishing successful communication and cooperation with parents. With that in mind, the first training titled "Teacher-parent communication and individual cooperation" was provided on October 11, 2017 in the Edhem Mulabdić Elementary in Sarajevo for twelve teachers from elementary schools Zaim Kolar (in Dejčići) and Srednje (in Srednje). The goal was to advance and conduct a partner school-family cooperation. TPO Foundation plans on providing fourteen additional trainings in the Sarajevo, Herzegovina-Neretva and Central Bosnia Canton for approximately sixty teachers from partner elementary schools.
