Panel Discussion “Radio Waves of Feminism” Held

The sixth and final panel discussion of the series “Women Workers in Culture” on June 24, 2024, was dedicated to the question of women’s contributions to the creation and preservation of exceptionally valuable documentary-dramatic radio programs and a rich audio archive. We discussed radio as a medium of specific artistic creation and the artists, editors, and journalists who have diligently worked and created outstanding audio content for over seventy years, now stored in a rich audio archive.

During the June panel, we introduced two valuable contributors who spoke about different aspects of working and operating in radio. The participants of this panel shared their experiences of working on (feminist) radio waves, revealed some of the magic of radio, and pointed out ways in which radio could truly become a public service for women and their fight against discrimination, gender-based violence, and the oblivion to which our society continues to consign many Bosnian-Herzegovinian artists and cultural workers.

Participants included Ines Bazdalić, a journalist from BH Radio 1, and Selma Dizdar, editor of the Documentary-Drama Program of Radio FBiH. The discussion was moderated by Adisa Bašić and Ajla Demiragić.
