A Rich Program of Activities for the “16 Days of Activism” Campaign at the University of Bihać

On November 26, 2024, the “16 Days of Activism” campaign was launched at the Faculty of Law at the University of Bihać, organized as part of the UNIGEM project by the TPO Foundation from Sarajevo. In line with the planned project activities, symbolic “Walls of Silence” were set up at the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Education at the University of Bihać, where students, faculty members, staff, and visitors could leave messages of support for the victims of violence.

Additionally, on December 9, 2024, a roundtable on the topic “Survivors of Wartime Sexual Violence” was held at the Faculty of Law. The panelists were Prof. Dr. Vildana Pečenković, Prof. Dr. Amela Čolić, and Prof. Dr. Jasmina Bešlagić. The participants were introduced to the topic, followed by a discussion on this highly complex and multidisciplinary issue.

On December 10, 2024, during the campaign, a promotion of the collection “Gender and Violence in the Balkans” took place at the Faculty of Education. The promoters were Prof. Dr. Vildana Pečenković, Prof. Dr. Amela Čolić, and Prof. Dr. Jasmina Bešlagić. The participants were introduced to the creation, editors, structure, and content of the collection, followed by a discussion.

The “16 Days of Activism” campaign at the University of Bihać concluded on December 27, 2024. During this event, the coordinators of the Gender Equality Center at the University of Bihać, Prof. Dr. Jasmina Bešlagić and Prof. Dr. Amela Čolić, presented this year’s campaign and the activities that were carried out. Students, who were participants of previous campaigns, also presented their numerous activities, attendance at educational sessions, schools, and other events within the UNIGEM project.
