At the ceremonial session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, plaques were awarded to institutions and individuals for their exceptional contribution to the development and promotion of Sarajevo Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Upon the nomination of the TPO Foundation, the individual recipient of the Plaque was also the distinguished artist Hasija Borić – Stojić, in recognition of her long-standing and dedicated contribution to the development of theatre and dramatic arts, as well as her strong social engagement through art.

Throughout her rich artistic career, Hasija Borić – Stojić has left a profound mark on the Bosnian and Herzegovinian theatre scene through numerous stage, television, and film roles. Her artistic work is characterized by a commitment to socially responsible themes, particularly issues of human rights, women’s dignity, and the position of marginalized groups in society. Her engagement in publicly addressing the issues of gender-based violence and femicide has been especially recognized. Through artistic projects, public appearances, and cultural initiatives, Hasija Borić – Stojić continuously highlights the importance of combating violence against women, promoting a culture of dialogue, empathy, and social responsibility. It is precisely because of this unique combination of outstanding artistry and social activism that the TPO Foundation nominated her for this prestigious award.
As part of the ceremony, Hasija Borić – Stojić emotionally recited verses from the poem “Hatidža,” dedicated to Hatidža Mehmedović, a symbol of dignity and the struggle of the Mothers of Srebrenica. The verses were written by her husband, writer Mile Stojić. The awarding of this plaque represents recognition not only of the artistic work of Hasija Borić – Stojić, but also of her continuous contribution to building a more humane and just society in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
