EXHIBITION "RAZIJA HANDŽIĆ'S POETRY AND MUSEUM"
On Monday, November 28, 2016 TPO Foundation in cooperation with the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts BiH and Sarajevo Open Centre opened an exhibition "Razija Handžić's Poetry and Museum" within the international campaign ''16 Days of Activism against Gender based Violence''. Exhibition represents commemoration and tribute to women who contributed to cultural development in B&H, the promotion of women's work in B&H literature and it is one of the ways to keep B&H female writer's work from oblivion.

For the first time in its 55 years Museum of Literature and Theatre B&H has produced the exhibition about its founder, poetess Razija Handžić. This last one exhibition in a string of author exhibitions by which we mark our jubilee tells a story about our remembering of our cultural workers.
In the times when our cultural institutions are systematically deconstructed we decided to rise against memory erasing.

TPO REPRESENTS THE PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES ON THE OCCASION OF 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER BASED VIOLENCE
16 Days of Activism against Gender based Violence is an international campaign marked by approximately 3700 organisations in more than 160 countries all over the world. It starts on November 25 which is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and ends on December 10, International Human Rights Day and anniversary of Declaration of Human Rights.
TPO Foundation wants to raise awareness of citizens about violence consequences on individuals, families and society through its activities on the occasion of 16 Days of Activism. Participation of primary and secondary schools in B&H as important places of secondary socialisation where teachers, students and parents should work together in order to reduce various forms of gender based violence and make violence an unacceptable behaviour is particularly emphasized.
Violence is not solution for anything therefore TPO Foundation invites everyone to stand against surrounding violence effectively and help community through peace activities, educational programmes and fostering good.

MEDIA PEDAGOGY WORKSHOPS IN SARAJEVO
Since we witness (non)culture of violence permeating entire society on a daily basis TPO Foundation decided to join forces with teachers from three cantons and do something about prevention and reduction of violence at B&H schools. After successfully implemented media pedagogy workshops in Mostar and Tuzla a meeting with Sarajevo teachers followed. Together with the team from the Centre of Cultural and Media Decontamination teachers converted their experiences and anecdotes into future films that will be used in educational process and to raise awareness about violence.

THE SECOND SET OF MEDIA PEDAGOGY WORKSHOPS IN MOSTAR
Prevention and Reduction of Violence at Schools is a three-year project implemented by TPO Foundation in cooperation Pedagogical Institute of Tuzla Canton and Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. The action plan and pedagogical-preventive measures against violence at schools were set up after the process of strategical planning. The first activities within this project are media pedagogy workshops whose aim is to encourage teachers for using audio-visual materials and their individual creating. The second set of media pedagogy workshops was organised in Mostar on November 03 and 07, 2016 in cooperation with Centre for Cultural and Media Decontamination.

AGREEMENT OF TPO FOUNDATION AND MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND SPORT OF CANTON SARAJEVO ON PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AT SCHOOLS
TPO Foundation signed the agreement with Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of Sarajevo Canton on November 01, 2016. The agreement represents joint commitment for realisation of various educational and pedagogical contents in the field of peer violence prevention for teachers and parents of students in all primary and secondary schools of Sarajevo Canton. ''Ministry of Education, Science and sport of Sarajevo Canton and TPO Foundation will plan and agree upon implementation of joint programme activities that will include educative workshops and making of educational materials for teaching staff and parents, expert seminars and conferences, guest lectures and promotions of various educational publications in this field'', said minister Kazazović. The goal is to strengthen educational work at schools related to peer violence prevention as well as parental and teachers' competences. Agreed activities will be realised during this and next school year.

THE FIRST GLOBAL ETHIC WORKSHOP FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS
IN TUZLA CANTON
The first Global Ethic workshop for primary schools in Tuzla canton was organised on October 29-30, 2016 and 24 teachers of various subjects attended it. The workshop was held in premises of Pedagogical Institute of Tuzla canton and workshop itself as well as the project is implemented by TPO Foundation after successfully conducted GE workshops in four cantons (Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica-Doboj and Herzegovina-Neretva) for more than 200 teachers.

THE FIRST SET OF MEDIA PEDAGOGY WORKSHOPS
On October 12 and 13, 2016 the implementation of the first media pedagogy workshops in Tuzla began within three-year project ''Prevention and Reduction of Violence at Schools'' implemented by TPO Foundation Sarajevo after agreed cooperation with Pedagogical Institute of Tuzla Canton and Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. Ten teachers from 10 schools in Tuzla Canton attended each one-day workshop. Workshops are implemented in cooperation with Centre for Cultural and Media Decontamination (CKMD).

CONVERSATION WITH MYRA STROBER - BOOK LAUNCH ''SHARING THE WORK''
Myra Strober, professor at Stanford University and the author of the book "Sharing the Work – What My Family and Career Taught Me about Breaking Through (and Holding the Door Open for Others)" joined us last night (October, 6th 2016) in online conversation for the book launch organized by Deloitte and TPO Foundation.
How to have a career and a family, how to make networks of support, how to fight discrimination in male dominated working settings, and how to build one's own leadership style are the questions that were discussed during the book launch in the hotel ''Europe'' in Sarajevo.
Aida Spahic, one of the translators of the book together with Zilka Spahic Siljak facilitated the event and the conversation with Myra Strober. The book was discussed by Sabina Softic, the Deloitte partner in the Adriatic region and Jasna Kovacevic, lecturer at the School of Economics in Sarajevo and Zilka Spahic Siljak, associate professor and researcher at Stanford University and program director of TPO Foundation.

THE FIRST MODULE OF TRAINING OF
TRAINERS – GLOBAL ETHIC AT SCHOOL
The first module of educational cycle Training of Trainers – Global Ethic at School was organised by TPO Foundation from September 29, 2016 to October 01, 2016 in Franciscan monastery ''St. Bonaventure'' in Visoko. Fifteen teachers from four cantons (Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica – Doboj, Hezegovina – Neretva) had an opportunity to learn about basics of andragogic methodology, philosophy, human rights and social justice from religious and secular point of view and lecturers were experts in the abovementioned subjects: Mirjana Mavrak, Spahija Kozlić, Fr. Mile Babić, Zilka Spahić – Šiljak, Emina Abrahamsdotter, Monja Šuta – Hibert and Alen Kristić. The goal of this three-day educational cycle was training of future lecturers at Global Ethic workshops who will teach and promote various possibilities of Global Ethic integration in school educational system in the future.

THE FIRST WORKSHOP OF GLOBAL ETHIC AT PRIMARY
SCHOOLS OF SARAJEVO CANTON
After successful cooperation with Pedagogical Institutes and Ministries of Education, Science, Culture and Sport in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica and Mostar and after implemented workshops for more than two hundred high school teachers and professors TPO Foundation managed to ensure resources and conditions for the new phase of project GLOBAL ETHIC AT SCHOOL. Therefore, on September 24-25, 2016 the first workshop of Global Ethic at School for primary schools in Sarajevo Canton was organised and 22 teachers of Islamic and Catholic religion and subject Society, Culture and Religion attended it.

THE THIRD INTERDISCIPLINARY CLASSROOM IN BELGRADE
The third interdisciplinary classroom ''Politicised Memories: Battle for the Territory of Collective Memory'' was organised by TPO Foundation on Thursday, September 15, 2016 in Belgrade. The classroom gathered students from B&H, Croatia and Serbia in one place once again and the setup of lecturers did not lag behind previous two classrooms so this time at the desk were Dubravka Stojanović, Sonja Biserko, Staša Zajović, Milivoje Bešlin, Momir Samardžić and Milovan Pissari. Discussed themes were representation of different history nad its facts in history schoolbooks, the Holocaust of Roma which is regularly concealed in the public and school syllabi, feminist approach of facing the history, historical revisionism and political use of the past, dissolution of Yugoslavia in the context of international relations and standardisation of language by the end of 19th century and beginning of 20th century as an example of national identity creation. >> MORE

BJORN KRONDORFER'S REFLECTIONS ON TRAUMA AND MEMORIES IN BIH
One of the panelists at the international conference "Trauma, Memory and Healing organized by TPO Foundation in Sarajevo from July 12-14, 2016, was university professor Bjorn Krondorfer from Northern Arizona University. In his text published by the Center of International Education professor Krondorfer speaks about scares of the war that marked the lives of Bosnian citizens and about difficulties they have to heal their traumas.

WOMEN ENTERPRENEURSHIP FAIR IN NORTHERN B&H
The project ''Women Economical Strengthening for Peace in Communities'' implemented by TPO Foundation during the past year in cooperation with WA ''Posavski cvijet (Flower of Posavina)'' in Orašje, Domaljevac and Donji Žabari and supported by the Embassy of Kingdom of Norway in Sarajevo was officially concluded by the Women Entrepreneurship Fair on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Mayor of municipality Orašje Đuro Topić, TPO Foundation programme director Zilka Spahić – Šiljak, the head of Department for Economy and Infrastructure Pero Baotić and president of WA ''Posavski cvijet '' Mandica Živković addressed to the present ones. PREVENTION AND REDUCTION OF GENDER BASED VIOLENCE AT SCHOOLS PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
TPO Foundation in cooperation with Pedagogical Institute of Tuzla Canton and Ministry of Education of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton has begun realisation of three-year project of gender-based violence prevention and reduction at schools at the end of August and beginning of September, 2016. On that occasion representatives of Pedagogical Institute of Tuzla Canton, Ministry of Education of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton as well as teachers and pedagogues of twenty partner primary and secondary schools attended the meetings of strategic planning. Meetings of strategic planning resulted in joint action plan and established programme activities that will be realised in the next three years and will be supported by the official educational structures in the abovementioned cantons. >> MORE

SUMMER SCHOOL: DEMYTHOLOGIZING OF NATIONS AND IDENTITIES:
BOSNIA IN THE EUROPEAN MEDIAEVAL PERIOD (Jajce)
Summer school entitled Demythologizing of Nations and Identities: Bosnia in the European Mediaeval Period was organised by TPO Foundation and University of Zenica in the period July 15 – 19, 2016. The school gathered students from B&H, Serbia, Croatia, Germany, Australia, Italy, Austria, Poland, and while at the rostrum were relevant experts in the field of Middle Ages, language, literature and history in general. There was a visit to the mass grave ''Tomašica'' and camp ''Trnopolje'' in Prijedor and to Banja Luka where students could hear about traumas, historical facts as well as coping with the past. >> MORE

THE CONCLUSION OF THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ''TRAUMA, MEMORY AND HEALING IN THE BALKANS AND BEYOND'' (Sarajevo)
The second international conference ''Trauma, Memory and Healing in the Balkans and Beyond'' is concluded by the visit to Srebrenica and meeting with women from the association ''Snaga žene'' organised by TPO Foundation in cooperation with University of Boston (USA), University of Zenica (B&H), George Mason University (USA), Center of Justice and Peace building at Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia (USA), Vrije University Amsterdam (Netherlands), Documenta (Croatia) and Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma (USA). During the three days of lectures and discussions, acknowledged experts in the areas of psychosocial therapy, psychology, psychiatry, history, sociology, anthropology, gender studies and art were speaking of dealing with traumatic experiences of individuals and communities in various cultural i political contexts and how those experiences can be helpful to people in B&H and region. Stating the final conclusions of the conference, TPO Foundation programme director Zilka Spahić – Šiljak said that by the beginning of 2017 the collection of conference papers will be available in English and BCS languages and that all materials and information on this theme will be available online.
