COALITION FOR RECOM:
Humanity with a woman's face in Bosnia and Herzegovina
"Women are people too", the feminists used to repeat persistently, hoping we wouldn't have to bring this up in the 21st century. But, as soon as we thought we would no longer have to talk about it ever again, it turned out that one more international document had to be adopted in order to put additional pressure on international and national legal subjects to ensure equal participation of women in all areas of life. That is how UN Resolution #1325 on Women, Peace and Security (2000) came to be adopted – as a way to support the international legal framework for the protection of women's human rights. >> MORE

conference Call FOR PROPOSAL
TPO Foundation and her distinguished partners are pleased to welcome you to our second international conference on the theme of trauma, memory and healing. This conference seeks to create an interdisciplinary archive of knowledge and opportunities for the healing of memories and trauma in the Balkans and beyond. In a region which experienced the immense violence of three wars in the last century, the scars of trauma are deep and overlapping. Multiple memories are not simple stories of suffering, but play into socio-political agendas through competing victimization narratives. From a historical perspective, the experiences of pain and great loss on all sides in these armed conflicts and repressive regimes means that whole communities carry the allencompassing impact of trauma in their very anatomies and pyches, which call out for recognition and healing. This reality, mixed with the instrumentalization of suffering into victimhood, creates a social dynamic lacking the trust, acceptance, understanding and empathy conditional for collective healing. It may also lead to future conflict, through the perpetuation of vicious cycles of violence and victimization. In order to open a process of recovery or 'de-traumatization', toward a more just, peaceful and stable society, the society must first recognize the presence of its trauma. A social environment is needed that positively confirms the authenticity of individual victims' trauma/s as well as the credibility of the traumatic narratives of groups.

Bauk FemiNauk - Bogey FemiTeaching
The goal of comic editions named Bogey FemiTeaching is to inspire people to question prejudices about feminism, gender equality and the status of women in contemporary BiH society through humorous comic situations, because often even the casual mention of the word feminism is causing a wave of stereotypical reactions. Those who know very little about feminism are usually fiercest critics. The basic attitude of feminism is that women should have equal rights and opportunities as men. The feminist doctrine really is not bogey, only those on high positions in society created bogey feminism to suppress women to participate equally in all spheres of life together with the men. UNIVERSAL ETHIC IN PLURAL BIH
Dr. sc. Mato Zovkic wrote an extensive article on two publications issued by the TPO Foundation at the end of October 2014. – a book "A Global Ethic: Documents – Establishment – Applications" and a reference book "A Global Ethic under the School Roof: A Manual for Integrating a Global Ethic into Teaching Processes", whose editor is Alen Kristic.
The editor announces that the program of universal ethic allows theoretical and practical access to materials that could be used by catechists and religion teachers, as well as teachers of ethics, history and sociology in their teaching units and all the teachers and the schools in all aspects of life and work, which is already done in some schools of Germany.
Zovkic states that before the end of 2014 with the responsible ministries of education, science, culture and sport and the pedagogical institutes in Canton Sarajevo, Zenica-Doboj Canton and Tuzla Canton were held three two-day seminars for around hundred high school teachers. It was shown that the teaching staff and the educational structure accepted a global ethic, which provides hope for the systematic integration of a global ethic in these cantons as well as in the whole BiH. And catechists and their students are those who introduce universal ethic in our schools and society.
The book and the reference book are to serve the employees of TPO Foundation in the contextualization of a global ethic in different spheres and all those "who care about the comprehensive humanization of our society".

She is light – Nira. She does not allow injustice and lawlessness. She does not observe them passively, but by her personal examples rather indicates that we must speak and act on sexual harassment and other violations of human rights as they would not occurred. She is courageous and persistent in her objectives and not silent – she is Nira, a heroine of homonymous comic book, which was promoted within the 16 Days of Activism by the representatives of Transcultural Psychosocial Educational Foundation (TPO Foundation) in Sanski Most, Sarajevo, Livno and Bosansko Grahovo.
