Info on promotion of the book "Both believers and citizens"

In Sarajevo, on December 9, 2009, promotion of the book Both believers and citizens and the Training manual: Modification of cultural pattern and practise of men and women in B&H in organisation of TPO Foundation and  CIPS University of Sarajevo, was held.

Both publications are a result of the aforementioned project implemented by TPO Foundation in 2008/2009, with promotion of human rights of women, in particular Article 5 of the CEDAW convention and UN Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security, being in focus.

Being aware of discussions on universalism and cultural relativism of human rights in the past decades, and resistance against implementation of universal human right in several countries - in particular towards articles and provisions regulation gender equity - this initiative presents a small yet very important step in setting ground for dialogue between secular and religious human rights discourse.

Participants of the first seminar-training Modification of cultural pattern and practise of men and women in B&H were representatives of NGOs from B&H: Medica Zenica, CIM Sanski Most, Perpetuum mobile Banja Luka, Lara Bijeljina, Vive žene Tuzla, Most Višegrad, Fondacija cure Sarajevo, IMIC Sarajevo. The project was supported by: UNIFEM and Royal Norwegian Embassy in Sarajevo.

Projekat su podržali: UNIFEM i Ambasada Kraljevine Norveške u Sarajevu.
